    Description
    Roles & Responsibilities

    a) Responsible for providing operational database services;

    b) Responsible in designing, implementing, documenting, administering and monitoring the databases to ensure the databases run efficiently and securely;

    c) Responsible for database patching;

    d) Owning, tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests, fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs;

    e) Reviewing service related reports (e.g: database backups, maintenance, monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and resolved within established SLAs;

    f) Responding to database related alerts and escalations and working with vendors and other parties to come up with strategic solutions to recurring problems;

    g) Establishing and maintaining communication with development team to keep them updated with status of their requests, initiating and performing changes on development systems and proactively escalating any issues that cannot be resolved within the established timeframes;

    Requirements:

    a) Recognised Degree with a technical major such as engineering, data communications or computer science, among others;

    b) Good communication and documentation skills;

    c) Minimum 5 years Database Administration experience;

    d) Experience with Relational Database Administration for DB2 / Oracle Server / PostgreSQL;

    e) Experience with Administration of Cloud Native / Software as a Services (SaaS) Data warehouses product such as Snowflake, AWS Redshift will be an advantage;

    f) Knowledge and/or working experience in SQL Database servers and MySQL will be an advantage;

    g) Experience in performing, managing and validating Data Model creation. (ERWIN and/or equivalent);

    h) Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems;

    i) Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. (knowledge of indexes, index management, and statistics);

    j) Experience with backups, restores and recovery models;

    k) Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for DB2 / Oracle Server / PostgreSQL;

    l) Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts / shell scripting;

    m) Experience in writing and implementing Stored Procedures, PL/SQL and SQL;

    n) Experience working with Windows and UNIX servers;

    o) Experience in cloud database computing will be an advantage; and

    p) Team player and able to work independently.
