    Roles & Responsibilities

    Key Responsibilities:

    Daily Operational Tasks:

    • Implementing SAN zoning for data access and security.
    • Conducting prompt hardware repairs or replacements.
    • Creating and extending Storage Logical Unit Numbers (LUNs).
    • Monitoring storage health and addressing issues proactively.
    • Continuously monitoring and planning for storage capacity expansions.
    • Assessing and maintaining storage performance.
    • Troubleshooting storage-related issues promptly.
    • Conducting Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and drills.
    • Monitoring backup statuses and addressing challenges swiftly.
    • Ensuring regular tape maintenance and efficient management of physical tape libraries.
    • Overseeing and executing storage migrations with minimal disruption.

    Core Responsibilities:

    • Designing and implementing storage systems aligning with business needs.
    • Evaluating and proposing enhancements to boost scalability, performance, and efficiency.
    • Collaborating with IT teams to integrate storage solutions seamlessly.
    • Monitoring storage performance, identifying potential bottlenecks, and implementing measures for system stability.
    • Executing regular backups, implementing disaster recovery plans, and safeguarding data integrity and security.
    • Staying updated on emerging storage technologies, conducting research, and recommending innovative solutions.
    • Providing technical guidance and support to resolve complex storage-related issues.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in enterprise-level support.
    • Certification in ITIL V4 foundation.
    • Expertise in Tru64 Unix, OpenVMS, and Windows environments.
    • Proficiency with MA8000, MSA1000 SAN, and Itanium server hardware.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of 3Par, EVA, and StoreOnce technologies across multiple platforms.
    • Experience in replication technology and Cluster Extension (CLX) setups.
    • Competence in managing both virtual and physical tape libraries.
    • Familiarity with SAN management, Openview Data Protector, and Netbackup environments.
    • Relevant certifications in server hardware and OS maintenance.

    Additional Skills:

    • Proven track record in designing and implementing storage systems aligned with business needs.
    • Ability to identify enhancements for scalability, performance, and efficiency in existing storage infrastructure.
    • Excellent collaboration skills for effective integration across various IT teams.
    • Proficiency in disaster recovery planning, backup implementation, and ensuring robust data security measures.
    • Capability to conduct research and propose innovative storage solutions leveraging emerging technologies.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve complex storage-related issues and optimize system performance.
