Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe Eye Specialist for Animals is looking for a second ophthalmologist to join our Ophthalmology Practice. This is a fulltime position as a staff ophthalmologist who is willing to work in a collaborative environment and assist in the training of future residents. The applicant must be eligible for registration in Singapore. The position is present because of the practical need for board-certified veterinary ophthalmologists in Singapore to provide service for our expanding caseloads. Interest in a long-term association with The Eye Specialist for Animals, Singapore is desirable.
Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree. Board certification in veterinary ophthalmology (ACVO, ECVO or FANZCVS) is preferred, but those with credentials completed in preparation for the certifying exam are also encouraged to apply. The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with a team is highly valued.
The successful candidate will be supported by 4 experienced, licensed veterinary technicians, 1 ophthalmology intern and 1 veterinarian in a comprehensive, state-of-the art ophthalmology referral practice in Katong, Singapore. We are a busy ophthalmology practice with a high medical and surgical case load. We also see a large number of exotics. The Eye Specialist for Animals is equipped with extensive therapeutic and diagnostic equipment. Our practice always strives to have the best and most up to date care for our patients. The slogan for our practice is: Save vision, Save lives. We aim to improve the quality of life of your patients through saving vision.
The Eye Specialist for Animals provides a supportive workplace with an emphasis on the work-life balance. Our vets work a 4-day week. Participation in our limited (no calls after 10pm weeknights and 6pm weekends) afterhours roster is required, with a one in three or four on call roster.
