**Position Summary

The LNG Commercial Operator is responsible for managing all aspects of cargo and commercial Oil and Gas operations in a trading environment.

The main role is to provide end-to-end commercial operations and logístical support to Gulf Coast Trading (GCT) on a day-to-day basis for the timely implementation and execution of freight and commercial transactions to ensure obligations arising from trading contracts are met, optimize profitability, minimize losses, and support the senior management in the development of new and profitable contracts.


The Operator is required to collaborate closely with the trading, shipping, contract management, and finance teams, identify areas of operational and commercial risks, and be able to demonstrate robust problem-solving skills to mitigate risks and unlock prudent capabilities for enhancing commercial operations to stakeholders.


Trading activities revolve mainly in the European and US time zones, however the Operator is expected to respond flexibly to requests outside of normal office hours if required.

**Roles & Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of cargo operations from initiation to completion, liaise with counterparty operators to coordinate operational requirements as set out in the agreements and resolve any operational issues encountered.
  • Manage and coordinate cargo documentation exchange, import/export permits declaration for regulatory compliance, and liaise with terminals, vessels, and counterparts in completing all the cargo documents.
  • Execute daily operations and devise optimal voyage plans with due consideration to voyage planning and fleet optimization in relation to production schedules, post fixture, customer focus and clear communication.
  • Facilitate invoicing and payment process, demurrage calculation and invoicing, and manage inventory of post-operation paperwork.
  • Ensure all pertinent information is entered in an accurate and timely manner into trading systems.
  • Monitor inventory and cargo quality of storage tank at the terminal, coordinate storage and reload activities and support GCT commercial team in the decision-making process to maximize flexibility in accessing terminal storage capacity.
  • Appoint independent surveyors and review surveyor reports and verify cargo quantity in accordance with agreed measurement & testing protocols.
  • Review term sheet/agreement for operational excellence and compliance, and to gain deeper understanding of LNG contracts.
  • Stay abreast of the global LNG market with emphasis on the near-term supply and demand drivers.
  • Provide analysis of market dynamics and improve market research processes and analytics.
**Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in any field.
  • Minimum of 5 years hands on operational Oil & Gas experience in a trading environment with specific knowledge, exposure and commercial awareness in LNG trading and terminal operations.
  • Experience with terminal compatibility processes, LNG ship operations planning, warehousing, inventory, intake calculations, charter parties and terms as well as industry standards.
  • Calculate and present voyage related claims to counterparties.
  • Insight into the technical aspects of a vessel, both related to the dimensions and flexibility as well as cargo handling and equipment will be a plus.
  • Able to anticipate and mitigate risks and identify opportunities through adversities.
  • Possess strong integrity and immaculate work ethics.
