Position Summary:


The main role of the Technical Service Analyst is to support the Technologist both at the customer-interface, by providing testing support, carrying out analytical evaluation of test results, and on internal development projects, undertaking project work and performance evaluations.


This Technical Service Analyst position will support the Lubes Product Technology team in Singapore/India/Korea and will work closely with Sales and Marketing in providing deployment support to customers in Southern Asia, with particular focus in the area of Crankcase and Small Engines additives technology.


Key Outputs:

What we can expect from you:


  • Support the technologists in the planning and execution of lubes technology programs within Singapore/India/Korea. The activities include (but not limited to) development/deployment programs, rigs/bench performance formulation, fundamental understanding, field trials and field performance monitoring, etc.
  • Assist the technologist in the preparation of technical documentation, including (but not limited to) technical brochures, product performance documentation, tender documentation, API/OEM licensing, country specific registration, field trial data/reports, etc.
  • Be responsible for the scheduling and coordination of blends through liaison with third party service providers of the analytical, bench, rig and engine tests to ensure timely delivery to meet project needs.
  • Lead or support the design and execution of performance testing and harms testing to support development/ deployment programs and/or IQP 1.6 new product commercialization.
  • Analyze, collate and document test results and other information in the formats needed for product performance presentation, both internally and externally.
  • When appropriate opportunities arise, lead deployment projects and assist technologists in direct customer and OEM support, including product recommendation and technical presentation to customers and OEMs.
  • Where needed, assist technologists in providing support to product quality investigations
  • Lead or support specific local, regional or global quality or process improvements and QIT (quality improvement team) efforts.
  • Ensure work meets compliance with laboratory and industry safety standards and quality procedures.
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned.

  • Knowledge in lubes industry standards and practices, as well as strategy in lubes technology program execution
  • A science/engineering degree or diploma, with laboratory experience
  • Ability to work skilfully and methodically according to technical standards and quality processes
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team, with general guidance from a supervisor
  • Experience of working with mínimal supervision with a high awareness of the associated Health, Safety and Environmental practices
  • Capability to accurately manage test results and technical information, manipulate data and maintain comprehensive records
  • Good communication, timemanagement and personal organization skills
  • Problemsolving tenacity with self
