Description
We are looking to fill an operational position with a dynamic, self motivated and goals driven person.

They must be able to describe themselves as a good problem solver and feel an accomplishment in doing so which drives them to search for the next challenge.


We are a multi-national coal trading company which requires logistic solutions to physically move our cargos from one foreign port to another via Ocean going vessels and/or barges, we handle over a dozen new shipments per month and approximately 15+ million tons per annum.

We charter Capes/Panamax/Supra/Handy size vessels and you will be involved in all of these classes of ships.


Job Responsibility

  • Manage all Operational matters once vessels are fixed to perform existing cargo positions. Be able to work Independently as demonstrated.
  • Manage vessels positions and update various departments accordingly
  • Assist with Vessel nominations from time to time
  • Be responsible for initiating laytime calculations as per terms and conditions of sale, purchase and c/p contracts. Conclude these laytimes with various customers after forming your own constructive arguments when required
  • Contribute and assist chartering department with your viewpoints to improve our terms and conditions in contracts on the basis of Laytime calcs
  • Assist and collaborate in developing more efficient systems that could help either operations department or collaboration between other departments to run smoother
  • Directly interact with Finance, Chartering, Trading departments operationally advise feasibility and/or obstacles calling ports
  • Work directly with all owners' operations departments and try to build a working relationship accordingly

Essential Experience

  • Dry cargo operations experience of not less than 3 years or a relative trade such as agency, terminal operator, stevedore, or tug and barge of approximately 5 years.


possess skills in laytime or a clear understanding of same, have a commercial sense of the business we are involved in, a strong ability to multi task, logical and practical understand of vessel movements, an ability and confidence to negotiate minor issues independently but always with knowledgeable and supportive reasons.

All of these skills to be used in a team atmosphere and must possess ability to work with others and interact with other departments on a daily basis.


Required Skills:


  • Possess skills in laytime or a clear understanding of same, have a commercial sense of the business we are involved in, a strong ability to multi task, logical and practical understand of vessel movements, an ability and confidence to negotiate minor issues independently but always with knowledgeable and supportive reasons.

  • All of these skills to be used in a team atmosphere and must possess ability to work with others and interact with other departments on a daily basis.

  • With IMOS experience and multi-lingual will be a plus.
