What you will be working on:

You will be responsible for conceptualising, designing, oversee implementation, and leading an engineering team in the supporting the daily Security Operations.

The work will require managing a team of engineers (with technical guidance) to design and implement security solutions that protect the GCSOC from a variety of threats, including cyberattacks, data breaches, and insider threats.

The Head of Engineering will also be responsible for monitoring the GCSOC's security posture and responding to security incidents.

Conceptualise, Design, implement, maintain, and review the security capabilities and architecture for the GCSOC.
Monitor the GSOC's security posture and respond to security and engineering incidents.
Keep up to date on the latest security threats and trends and recommend appropriate changes on the adopted SOC challenges.
Evaluate existing Cloud Infrastructure and identify areas for improvement to enhance GCSOC's current capabilities.
Supervise risk assessments, threat modelling, and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security weaknesses.
Implement and configure cloudnative security services such as Azure Sentinel or Google Chronicle to monitor and detect security incidents.
Develop and enforce relevant security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with internal guidelines, service level obligations, and industry standards.
Work with a team of engineers to design and implement security solutions for GCSOC.
Design and maintain a relevant security training plan for GCSOC engineering staff.
Collaborate with external stakeholders, vendors, and government agencies to address security concerns and share knowledge.

What we are looking for:

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) is preferred.
Relevant Cybersecurity Certifications for Cloud is preferred.
Minimally 5 years of experience in Cybersecurity.
Hands-On familiarity with cloud native security capabilities such as Azure Sentinel or Google Chronicle.
Strong understanding of security principles and best practices.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
