Position Summary

The Retail Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing daily operations within the retail environment.

This position requires a combination of leadership, customer service, and organizational skills to ensure smooth functioning of the retail outlet.

The Retail Supervisor is responsible for managing a team of retail staff, implementing sales strategies, maintaining inventory levels, and delivering exceptional customer service.

This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team Management

• Supervise and motivate retail staff to achieve sales targets and provide excellent customer service.
• Schedule shifts and allocate tasks effectively to ensure optimal coverage and productivity.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Foster a positive working environment and address any issues or conflicts that may arise among staff.

Sales and Customer Service

• Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service and resolving customer complaints or concerns.
• Implement sales strategies to drive revenue and meet or exceed sales targets.
• Train retail staff on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer service standards.
• Monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement or opportunities for growth.

Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper stock levels are maintained at all times.
• Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to replenish inventory as needed.
• Conduct regular inventory audits to minimize shrinkage and loss.
• Monitor product trends and adjust inventory levels accordingly to meet customer demand.

Visual Merchandising

• Ensure the retail space is visually appealing and merchandise is displayed effectively to maximize sales.
• Implement and maintain visual merchandising standards as per company guidelines.
• Rotate and refresh displays regularly to highlight promotions and new arrivals.

Operational Duties

• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
• Oversee cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in transactions.
• Collaborate with the store manager to develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, payroll, and reporting as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum a diploma in Retail Management and/or the equivalent of 3 years' proven experience in a retail supervisory or management role.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer service orientation with a passion for exceeding customer expectations.
• Solid understanding of retail operations, including sales techniques, inventory management, and visual merchandising.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
