The Role Responsibilities

  • Conduct, Financial Crime & Compliance (CFCC)'s vision is: Partnering to drive the right outcomes for clients and communities.
  • The Second Line Assurance (2LA) function provides independent, effective, insightful and riskbased assurance across nonfinancial risktypes.

Strategy

  • Work with Assurance leadership to enhance the department's data analytics capabilities

Business

  • Actively engage in the Review processes, taking every opportunity to develop their knowledge and understanding of SCB Business and the execution of Assurance while delivering their tasks.
  • Identify and promote use of data analytical routines that can be developed to meet Assurance objectives.
  • Establish relationships with data owners to gain understanding of available resources, flow of information and ways in which information can be leveraged in the assurance process.
  • Develop automated scripts to allow assurance staff to execute data analytical programs for similar or recurring reviews and/or to be used in implementing Continuous Monitoring in Assurance.

Processes

  • Collect relevant data / information to develop riskbased assurance reviews plan that is consistent and efficient across the 2LA consolidated plan.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing and documentation of programs to assist in population and scoping analysis, sampling, testing, and issue impact justification.
  • Lead complex CAATs in Assurance Reviews
  • Provide insight and guidance on the interpretation of reported exceptions/analytics outputs so that appropriate actions can be taken by the assurance teams.
  • Design and develop innovative, reusable tools and scripts
  • Ensure that data analytics work papers and other documentation required for assigned Reviews are completed timely and adhered to quality standards required by the Methodology.

People and Talent

  • Provide coaching to other CAATs Analysts to ensure they are highly engaged and performing to their potential.
  • Promote the culture and practice of compliance with compliance standards (including conducting business within regulatory requirements, and to high ethical standards) within the Bank and embed a 'Here for good' culture and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure that all required personal development tasks are completed in a thorough and timely way, including mandatory training, objective setting, appraisals and the P3 process.

Risk Management

  • Design and develop data analytics capability in providing Assurance across all 2LA risk types.
  • Adhere to the required standards of risk management for the management of all Assurance processes.
  • Ensure that work delivered in their area of responsibility follows prescribed workflows and meets quality standards with the required attention to detail and within the timelines set.

Governance

  • Swiftly escalate significant risks and issues arising from Assurance activities by notifying their Head of Assurance.
  • Provide accurate, timely and insightful reporting on 2LA standards and operational performance as identified through oversight and assurance activities.

Regulatory and Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Group Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across the Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
  • Bachelors degree or Equivalent required.
  • 6+ years of Analytics experience in providing audit or assurance support.
  • Handled successful, high impact data analysis projects and outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis software; good understanding of data systems and data query and coding language methods, such as SQL, SAS, Python. Must be proficient in SAS or Python.
  • Knowledge of data visualisation software (Tableau).
  • Advanced MS Excel skills including VBA Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, and confidence in interrogating data, processes and interviewing stakeholders.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
