Responsibilities:


  • Cloud Engineer is also expected to support setting up DevOps platform for all the development activities within the team.

Key accountabilities:


  • Build and operate cloud infrastructure using best industry practices in coordination with IT infrastructure and network teams
  • Manage and continue improving cloud product reliability, availability, maintainability & cost/benefit incl. automating scale down/up of environments
  • Support data engineers / software engineers in setting up, optimizing and automating cloud engineering infrastructure (e.g. provisioning and deployment, etc)
  • Manage cloud infrastructure cost and plan for the forecast of the future investment
  • Build, operate and improve DevOps platform
**Requirements:
Technical Skills

  • 3 + years handson experience with configuring, deploying and operating public cloud services of IAAS, PAAS and SAAS (preferably Microsoft Azure)
  • Expertise in infrastructure as code (e.g. cloud formation, ARM, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
  • Basic familiarity with network features (e.g. cloud network topology, BGP, routing, web (REST) APIs)
  • Handson programming experience with Shell Scripting, Python and Scala programming
  • Deep understanding and experience in cloud product availability (e.g. region, availability zone, data replication clustering)
  • Experience in task automation (e.g. Azure Runbooks/Workbooks)
  • Domain in Linux OS and its main distributions

DevOps Methodologies

  • Domain in Azure DevOps platform (e.g. CI/CD, Pipelines, Build, Releases, Repos)
  • Experience in Container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes (AKS), etc) utilizing DockerFile, YAML, etc
  • Experience with Git/Git Flow (versioning)

Security

  • Understanding of network architectures suitable for different cloud topologies
  • Good knowledge of security implications of public & private cloud infra design

Cloud Economics

  • Knowledge of consumption driven TCO on cloud (i.e. understanding of cloud provider pricing vs internal costing for various config decisions)

Education

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
