Job Purpose:


The product owner develops a product and/or process vision based on customer needs and expectations of stakeholders/principals within the framework of the strategic guidelines, defines product features and communicates these decisions transparently within the team.


The product owner is responsible for the ROI through prioritisation of product features in the backlog based on business value; for that purpose, engages in regular communications with customers and stakeholders and collects feedback.


The product owner makes necessary decisions for his/her product, assumes responsibility for its success and thus ensures product quality together with the development team.

In that context, he/she is also responsible for creating reusable solutions.

To achieve this, the team members organise their own activities, working autonomously and with full accountability.

To that end, they are granted responsibility for all processes and systems needed for the products, processes and services for which they are accountable.

Open communications among the team members ensure regular and timely feedback. This enables the team to adopt a "fail fast" approach - i.e.

the rapid recognition and correction of mistakes, which permits a quick reaction to changing conditions and customer needs by means of iterative procedures.


Key activities:


  • Manage local Workplace projects and operations
  • Manage local Unified Communications projects and operations
  • Manage local Sharepoint projects and operations
  • Support special infrastructure related projects in the region
  • Develops a product and/or process vision
  • Responsible for assembling the team based on required skills/expertise
  • Creates and is responsible for the product backlog, determines the sprint backlog prior to every sprint through prioritisation by business value and/or customer benefit
  • The product owner ensures stable operations as per the service level agreements, IT security guidelines, user privilege management policy and the regulatory requirements, e.g. in connection with the backlog; organises and is responsible for a meaningful assessment of the user stories
  • Adjusts the product and sprint backlog in the refinement process
  • Communicates and is responsible for customer and stakeholder management at various levels both locally and globally
  • Takes part in agile meetings such as sprint planning, review and refinement
  • Responsible for ROI of the product or process
  • Improvements to products, services, processes and/or systems must take into account the requirements of barrierfree IT access / software ergonomics in accordance with the objectives of the Commerzbank action plan "Inclusion"

Formal education:

Diploma or higher


Specialist knowledge (work experience, further qualification):

Problem recognition / managing impediments

  • Recognition and problems specific to own specialised area; assessment of these problems using standard processes; preparing / developing solutions.

Specialised knowledge

  • Shares specialised knowledge within cell and/or chapter.
  • Extensive experience in Workplace and Unified Communications related support topics
  • Good analytical skills with ability to think outside the box
  • Relevant knowledge of regulatory framework and IT-Governance
  • Good communication skills
  • Track record for working well with other cells, including the Asia and global teams
