Roles & Responsibilities

The Property & Casualty department is responsible for the underwriting of both new and renewal business via all channels of business including facultative reinsurance business, claims and loss control in respect of Commercial Lines business.

As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will be directly involved in assessing and providing quotations to intermediaries as well as tapping on existing and new markets to broaden our business. Responsibilities include:

• Underwrite and assess quotations in accordance with guidelines and coordinate risks surveys (where necessary) or secure reinsurance support before acceptance of cover/quotation.
• Provide technical advice to intermediaries.
• Carry out market research by soliciting intermediaries' feedback, analyse competitors' packages and quotations, in consultation with Head of Section
• Identify preferred intermediaries and develop close rapport and support through marketing visits.
• Undertake projects or other duties as assigned by Head of Department and/or Head of Section

Qualifications

• Polytechnic Diploma and minimum CGI with at least 3 years of underwriting experience preferred.
• Able to work under pressure and to make decision by offering solutions.
• Reliable and trustworthy person who can deliver when is expected and work within deadlines.
• Good communication, teamwork, problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Familiar with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Strong customer focus and consistent look to exceed customer expectations.
• Performance driven and thrived on challenges.
