JOB SUMMARY


The Senior Director of Compensation and Benefits will be responsible for the APEC oversight, design, and management of the APEC Compensation and Benefits strategies that enable us to attract, retain, and motivate associates.

The Senior Director will play a key role in future compensation and benefits plan design, policy, and strategy.


The Director will consult and provide analytical support to the APEC compensation activities related to job evaluation, salary analysis and administration, incentive plan design and administration, and project planning and execution for all disciplines.

The Position will independently collaborate with HR partners, internally and externally to assess programmatic needs and will lead and manage complex project initiatives.

The position will drive Marriott's compensation philosophy and programs to ensure internal equity, external competitiveness, and compliance with applicable regulations and policies.

The Senior Director has a unique combination of strategy, policy, and operational delivery.

SPECIFIC EXPECTED CONTRIBTIONS

  • Lead all aspects of the APEC Compensation and Benefits projects and plans aligned to the business and HR strategy.
  • Partners and provides consultation with internal departments and market stakeholders on the design and implement Compensation and Benefits plans.
  • Lead relationships with key vendors and external partners on Compensation and Benefits plans.
  • Design and implement Benefits programs, to motivate and align associate engagement inline with business objectives.
  • Ensure all plans and programs follow local market regulations and legal requirements. Interact effectively with HR, Legal, Accounting, Tax, and other corporate functions to anticipate and identify compliance issues and ensure they are resolved.
  • Keep current on APEC Compensation and Benefits plans and trends to develop company policy.
  • Coordinate and assist with senior compensation on various data reporting needs.
  • Develop and prepare presentations and reports for the APEC Human Resources, Regional or Corporate meetings.
  • Perform management reporting and analysis related to senior management, Compensation and Benefits plans.
  • Provide thought leadership on current and emerging trends and issues.
  • Responsible for own work and assists in contributing to the Compensation and benefits team, HR team, and business disciplines.
  • Lead and develop the team of APEC Compensation & Benefit professionals supporting the region.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • 10 years Compensation and Benefits experience at the Director level with a track record of progressive responsibility in the Compensation and Benefits function for a large, global organisation or a leading consulting outsource provider.
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong project management skills, ability to prioritise activities and work on multiple projects.
  • Strong functional and indepth knowledge of Compensation and Benefits design.

PERSONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong working knowledge of Compensation and Benefits, as well as relevant legal standards.
  • Strong business acumen think as a business leader with the insights and skills to effectively address business opportunities with actionable, scalable, and sustainable Compensation and Benefits programs.
  • Ability to translate strategies and complex business needs into priorities and execute against those effectively securing necessary resources and monitoring progress against plans and strong project management.
  • Strong executive presence able to sell ideas and influence persuasively.
