    Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer

    We have a great opportunity based in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior Turbomachinery Aerodynamics Engineer to join the Advanced Fluid Systems team. This is a key technical role focused on the aerodynamic design and development of next‑generation turbomachinery for propulsion and power generation.

    What You'll Do

    Aerodynamic Design & Development

    • Lead aerodynamic design and optimization of centrifugal and axial compressors, fans, and turbines.
    • Serve as technical owner for a major module (HPC, LPC, or Fan).
    • Design and refine airfoils, blade rows, and flowpaths to meet performance, operability, efficiency, and durability goals.
    • Develop 1D meanline and throughflow models, bladed geometries, and full aerodynamic performance maps.

    CFD Analysis & Simulation

    • Conduct high‑fidelity CFD using ANSYS CFX/Fluent, NUMECA Fine/Turbo, STAR‑CCM+, and related tools.
    • Generate robust computational meshes using ICEM, TurboGrid, and AutoGrid.
    • Analyze complex aerodynamic phenomena including stall, surge, secondary flows, high‑Mach regimes, FSI, flutter, and CHT.
    • Support high‑flow‑coefficient and high‑speed turbomachinery development.

    Testing, Validation & Hardware Assessment

    • Lead and support concept design, detailed analysis, rig testing, and validation activities.
    • Define test objectives, participate in test planning and execution, and drive post‑test data reduction.
    • Correlate analytical predictions with rig and engine test data.
    • Assess as‑built hardware and recommend design improvements.

    Turbine Aerodynamics Development

    • Contribute to turbine aerodynamic design and R&T initiatives.
    • Ensure aerodynamic performance and mechanical integrity through all development phases.
    • Collaborate closely with aerothermal, structural, and mechanical design teams to deliver integrated system solutions.

    Tools, Processes & Collaboration

    • Support development of aerodynamic toolchains, automation frameworks, and multidisciplinary processes.
    • Work collaboratively with design, stress, manufacturing, and test teams.
    • Interface with suppliers, internal teams, and customers to resolve technical challenges.

    What You Bring

    Education

    • MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

    Experience

    • 8+ years of hands-on experience in turbomachinery aerodynamic design and development.
    • Strong background in aero gas turbine technologies.
    • Lifecycle experience from concept through validation testing.
    • Demonstrated leadership and ability to mentor developing engineers.

    Technical Skills

    • Expertise in turbomachinery aerodynamics, heat transfer, and gas turbine performance.
    • Proficiency in ANSYS CFX, Fluent, NUMECA Fine/Turbo, STAR‑CCM+.
    • Skilled with ICEM, TurboGrid, AutoGrid, and Siemens NX.
    • Experience with Python or similar scripting languages for automation and data analysis.
    • Comfortable in Linux environments; strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.

    Please note this role is based in Abu Dhabi and requires relocation
