Roles & Responsibilities

The School of Materials Science and Engineering has significantly changed over time. It remains dedicated to providing students with cutting-edge scientific and technological skills required by the industry. Additionally, the School has developed into a center of excellence in its specialized research areas. As a component of NTU's College of Engineering, MSE is now globally acknowledged as a leading research establishment, collaborating with esteemed universities, multinational corporations, and R&D institutions, and attracting funding from various sources.

An ideal candidate for this position should possess a solid foundation in electrochemistry, materials science, chemistry, and materials physics.

Key Responsibilities:

Contributing to cutting-edge research in small molecule electrocatalysis for electrolysis and fuel cells.
Investigating the relationship between catalysts' solid-state properties and their performance, as well as developing new electrode materials for small molecule catalysis.
Providing day-to-day support for the research team.
May undertake open-ended research projects under team supervision.
Mentoring and guiding graduate students.
Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

A PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Solid-state Physics, Electrochemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
Strong analytical and conceptual skills
Capacity to work autonomously or as part of a team in R&D projects
Track record of publishing papers in conferences and journals
Willingness and ability to train and advise graduate students on relevant procedures
Consistent reporting and meticulous documentation of work
Excellent English language skills, both written and oral
Extensive research background in electrocatalysis, catalyst development for fuel cells, and materials chemistry
Ability to contribute effectively as a team member in experimental research
Demonstrated capability for independent research
