Service Engineer - Singapore - JDA WMS PTE. LTD.

Description

Responsibilities:

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain various marine navigation and communication systems, such as MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and inspections on installed systems to ensure they operate optimally and comply with safety standards.
• Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure continuous system operation.
• Offer technical support and guidance to onboard crew members on the operation and upkeep of navigation and communication systems.
• Coordinate installations, upgrades, and repairs by collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and technological advancements in marine navigation and communication systems.
• Accurately document all service activities, including installation procedures, troubleshooting steps, and solutions provided.

Requirements:

• Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Possess at least 4 years of practical experience in installing, troubleshooting, and servicing marine navigation and communication systems.
• Have expertise in installing, configuring, and maintaining MARINE RADAR systems, chartplotters, ECDIS, AIS, VDR, VHF radios, MF/HF SSB, autopilots, maritime IT equipment, and VSAT systems.
• Proficient in IT/networking principles and protocols.
• Recommended to have a General Operator's Certificate (GOC).
• Desirable to have familiarity with marine electrical and electronics systems.
• Willingness to travel frequently, including assignments at sea or remote locations.
