- The Deputy Assistant Inspector General for the Office of Special Reviews and Communications (DAIGSRC) is responsible for leading, directing, and supervising an interdisciplinary - and in some cases, matrixed - team of attorneys, administrative investigators, and professional, technical, and administrative support staff ranging in grades from GS-5 thru GS-15. The incumbent provides administrative and technical supervision necessary for accomplishing the work of the unit.
- Serves as DAIGSRC and a Supervisory Inspector on behalf of OSRC. Oversees, plans, leads, and independently conducts complex and sensitive inspections, evaluations, special reviews, or projects related to EXIM programs, operations, functions, or other activities based on interests or requests from the IG, or other sources, such as Congress, the OIG Hotline, and the agency head (EXIM President/Chair). Ensure these activities are consistent with OIG directives, statutes, standards, guidelines, and regulations.
- Advises and collaborates with the AIGSRC and other OIG senior officials, to include the IG and Deputy IG, to coordinate and develop oversight projects and applicable policies and procedures. Establishes policies, procedures, provides guidelines, and reviews work products for accuracy to ensure objectives are achieved.
- Briefs the Chair, IG and EXIM management officials effectively on inspections, reviews, compliance results/findings and other pertinent OIG programmatic issues. Applies diplomacy and tact to represent OIG in resolving any conflicts or discrepancies pertaining to EXIM's acceptance of findings.
- Addresses challenging, political and sensitive inquiries and issues where the incumbent is confronted with cross cutting agency issues which further complicates fulfilling the responsibilities. Exercises extreme tact, diplomacy and sensitivity when working with and satisfying different factions within and outside the agency.
- Oversees and conducts several types of enforcement activities that typically include a wide variety of work processes conducted across the agency and may involve exceedingly new, complex, novel, technical, or highly controversial issues. Develops recommendations to improve organizational performance and efficiency. Plans, organizes, and oversees activities. Prepares reports for use by various stakeholders.
- Exercises an innovative approach to adapting and developing strategies to accomplish objectives where precedents and availability of resources are uncertain, and deadlines are frequently time sensitive. **This position requires domestic and international travel.

Summary
The EXIM OIG is headed by an Inspector General who is appointed by the President of the United States. The Inspector General provides independent and objective reviews of EXIM's programs (., EXIM's program and operations). The Inspector General is required to keep both the Chairman and Congress fully and currently informed about the problems and deficiencies relating to the administration of EXIM's programs and operations and the necessity for corrective action.Duties
Please Note: Employees will be required to report to their assigned office location at least 1 day per week unless the position advertised is designated as a remote-only position.This position is within OIG's Office of Special Reviews and Communications (OSRC). The incumbent serves as the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Special Reviews and Communications (DAIGSRC) and Supervisory Inspector overseeing, leading, and independently conducting inspections, evaluations, and special reviews or projects related to EXIM programs, operations, or other activities based on interests or requests from the IG or other sources, such as Congress, the OIG Hotline, and the agency head (EXIM President/Chair), and develops recommendations for improving organizational performance and efficiency. This work includes the planning and organizing of oversight activities, as well as the preparation of reports for use by various stakeholders. The work typically may include complex, new, or highly controversial issues. Dependent on the nature of the oversight work, duties are performed in accordance with Council of the Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency's (CIGIE) or CIGIE , as well as internal OIG policies and procedures. The incumbent serves as a subject matter expert in OSRC and collaborates with the Assistant Inspector General for Special Reviews and Communications in leading a multi-disciplined team. Travel may be required; the incumbent must be willing and able to travel both domestically and internationally.
