Job Description:
Responsibilities
- Measures, marks, and arranges materials to established layout based on blueprints or instructions from Supervisors.
- Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurements
- Build window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or preconstructed items
- Joins materials with the most appropriate nail, screw, or adhesive. Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designated
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as carpenter
- Work well as a team
- Ability to understand directions and read blueprints
- Ability to solve mathematical problems quickly and accurately.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
- Handson experience in working with carpentry materials
