Description

The Business Risk Consultant (BRC) provides business risk consulting services - business impact analyses, business continuity management support, financial support services and training - to FM Global clients in order to support our positioning as a strategic business partner, by elevating the clients' awareness of their critical business impact exposures and providing business-oriented protection and mitigation strategies.


The incumbent provides internally-focused business interruption value and exposure projects, and other financial support services, to Client Service Teams; transfers specific Business Risk Consulting Group (BRCG) knowledge and skills to internal clients.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Initiate, scope, lead and manage Business Impact Analysis (BIA), Business Continuity Management (BCM) and other clientfacing financial support services projects, conducting meetings with the client's senior management in order to develop a sound understanding of the client's business model, critical processes and profit drivers.
  • Quantify the business impact of impairment of key client processes and develop business continuity strategies for the client to avoid or mitigate the business impact.
  • Create opportunities for client service teams to access the client's senior and executive management and reinforce our position as a strategic partner that speaks the client's business language.
  • Transfer the knowledge gained through BRCG project work to the client service teams, providing them with improved understanding of clients' business impact exposures and consequently better information on which to base their underwriting decisions.
  • Deliver training courses around such topics to further demonstrate the portfolio of valueadding services that FM Global can deliver.
  • Serve as an expert resource to the client service teams in their development of internallyfocused business interruption values and exposures analyses, resulting in better information on which to base their underwriting decisions.
  • Support the Senior BRCs and the BRCG Manager in expanding the internal and external market for appropriate BRCG services, through both market and product development. Assist with marketing projects, including presentations at appropriate forums, articles for publications, etc. that increase the BRCG's profile and target audience awareness.

Requirements:


  • Accounting qualification strongly preferred; alternatively, a post graduate business degree with a focus on accounting and finance may be acceptable.
  • At least five years of commercial experience, including finanial management and/or analysis; experience of business and operational strategy; and consulting or professional services advisory.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to analyze data in order to develop meaningful conclusions and recommendations.
  • Consulting skills, including the confidence, flexibility and empathy to converse credibly with strategic and operational management.
  • Effective project management skills and a high degree of autonomy and selfmotivation.
