Job Description:


APAC Regional Project Director leads the distribution network strategy execution for the region which impact network responsiveness and sufficiency helping ELC deliver its business growth and consumer promise.

They successfully orchestrate multi-functional regional project teams to deliver transformational projects focussed on warehousing and DC operations. They will support market led transformational projects with regional tools and processes.

In addition to providing project leadership, the Project Director is also the PIC/ SPOC responsible for building the capability of project managers in the market as well as working closely with workstream leaders to improve and strengthen the project management process.

Project Director will also liaison with global fulfilment team to deploy global initiatives as well as share best-in-class practices from the region.

They will also act as regional SPOC to provide feedback and assessment on 3PL performance in the region for global quarterly business reviews as well as lead joint value creation projects with 3PL in the region.


Key responsibilities includes identifying transformational or reverse engineering opportunities and then delivering them with multifunctional team; facilitating decision making; ensuring the readiness and decision criteria are defined and aligned for transformational projects; provide communication across the multi-functional network; drives team effectiveness; plans and execute the project to meet all program requirements; manage scope and change control process; and facilitates project steering committee reviews and share learning/result review process for the projects.


This is a highly visible leadership role which will require ongoing influencing of the business, interfacing with a wide variety of levels and functions (including the SVPs, functional VPs, country GM and departmental Directors) and building capability on transformational project management.

Key Activities

  • Lead Planning, Scheduling, and ensuring Readiness for Transformational projects 55%
  • Leads the planning and implementation of DC RFPs, setups or expansions for existing network DCs
  • Leads multifunctional project team to deliver transformational projects on time and on cost.
  • Develops a full scale and comprehensive project plans
  • Manages and coordinates project resources; both internal ELC's businesses and functional processes owners, and external 3rd party logistics service partner(s)
  • Define project tasks, project milestones and resource requirements
  • Facilitates the definition of DC operating processes, goals and deliverables to ensure smooth transition to business as usual
  • Operates with discipline and leads by example for rest of the project team
  • Stakeholder Management/Business Partner (Influences, collaborates, and communicates): 20%
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, transparently, concisely and on a timely basis with project sponsors, steering committee, and executive board
  • Demonstrates ability to negotiate effectively to drive conflict resolution with internal stakeholders as well as with external service provider/ vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across all functions. Knows what is required by each function and actively works to help each person meet expectations.
  • Seen as a strong player who works well with global/regional/affiliate/market teams.
  • Diligently monitors and regularly report to various stakeholders on strategic choices to be made for APAC Distribution network optimisation as well as decision needed by business and functional leaders

  • Manage project budgets, expenditures and tracking against approved project budget
  • Manage changes to project scope/ scope creeps efficiently and implements changes and interventions, where necessary, to achieve consistently and promptly with defined scope of work, commitments, and project goals
  • Ensures that project scope address quality assurance, health and safety management requirements and any scope changes are duly evaluated from the standpoint of QA and EHS

  • Demonstrated ability to coach, support and provide direction to project team members on project deliverables, handhold where needed as well as not hesitate from timely escalation to ensure project success criteria is met.
  • Develops tools, processes, and playbook to enhance APAC project management capabilities.
  • Acts as regional SPOC for global projects as well as deploys global initiatives at regional and market level.
