    Roles & Responsibilities

    As the AVP, Commercial Development, you will be responsible for developing, initiating and maintaining client's relationship. Building a deep relationship with commodities trading clients is essential to the success of this role. This role requires a strong understanding of the needs of institutional clients, effective communication skills, strong interpersonal skills to network and build positive relationships with stakeholders and clients, and the ability to be strategic in carrying out your responsibilities. Possessing a background in commodities and/or financial markets would be advantageous. You will report to the SVP, Corporate Development.

    Responsibilities

    • Actively seek out business and clients' opportunities, initiates and open doors via network, social media, and industry events.
    • Educate and provide training to clients on commodities risk management, regulatory requirements and seek to better understand and assist clients' requirements.
    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new business opportunities, observe industry trends and analyse the competitive landscape in commodity and financial markets.
    • Assist in developing marketing strategies aligned with the broad organisational objectives and work closely with other business functions to align BD efforts with functional business objectives.
    • Be able to customise pitch decks and documentation for different stakeholders.
    • Update and manage our client database using a Client Relationship Management system
    • Plan and coordinate events, conferences, and promotional activities to increase visibility on Abaxx Exchange and connect with industry stakeholders.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Bachelor's degree in either Marketing, Finance, Business or a related field
    • Minimum 7 years' experience as a sales and/or commercial development professional
    • Strong capability and experience in developing and managing clients relationship
    • Strong understanding of financial markets, products and regulatory frameworks is advantageous
    • Prior experience in commodities sales and trading will be preferred
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
    • Effective networker and be good at relationship management, thrive in a dynamic work environment
    • Highly driven and hungry to make a difference in one's career
