About Career Development Centre
The Career Development Centre (CDC) is one of six departments under SUTD's Student Experience & Transformation (SET) group. We are the bridge between our students, potential employers and alumni. CDC believes in the importance of early career preparation through career workshops and internships.
This role will be a Section Head that oversee internships as a Senior Manager, reporting to the Head of CDC. Internships are a critical and mandatory part of SUTD student's journey towards being ready for the marketplace. The Senior Manager's duties include, but are not limited to:
1. Developing and Implementing Strategy for Student Internships
Connect students with appropriate local and overseas internship opportunities
Work closely with partners inside and outside the University including employers, government agencies, etc.
2. Oversee internship processes for all SUTD students
Lead a team who partner with employers and students to ensure internship outcomes
Oversee the full cycle of internship operations for students, ensuring alignment with academic programme requirements and policies
Monitor internship quality, supervise submission of reports and timely evaluation by faculty and employers
Drive outcomes related to internship conversion by engaging and tracking return offer success
Oversee the visits to interns and companies
Moderator for resolving internship issues
Maximize opportunities for growth and return offers
Collaborate with academic pillars and industry partners to strengthen internship frameworks and
employability pathways
- Continuous efforts in enhancing internship portal to improve user experience of employers and students
3. Oversee Collection, Analysis and Dissemination of SUTD's Employment, Internship and Life Skills Statistics
Lead the planning and administration of the Graduate Employment Survey (GES) of the graduating cohort.
Collaborate with Academic Pillars and support Marketing & Communications to put up interesting students' stories for media release for Commencement and GES
Attend Committee meetings and work with the Committee and vendor to ensure smooth launch of the GES
Verify data prepared by vendor on MOE web publications and ensure GES reports are accurate, complete and cleaned
Prepare periodic reports and dashboards required by internal and external stakeholders. E.g. MOE
Interpret data to identify graduate employment trends and areas for policy or programme improvement
Utilize AI-powered tools to create or generate ideas to improve visualizations to facilitate deeper insights on the data
Facilitate the timely implementation of the Life Skills survey and identify areas for improvement in students' Life Skills
4. Risk Management and Cyber Risk Representative
Work closely with Team CDC to identify risks and come up with response plans and seek consultation with Head of CDC and obtain support from the Risk Leader (Chief of Staff)
Ensure departmental practices adhere to university risk management guidelines, audit requirements and timely submissions of risk register and cyber risk updates to Risk Enterprise and Office of Cybersecurity
Ensure timely reporting and submission of the Cyber Risk Assessment form to Cybersecurity team whenever a new IT initiative is identified
Recommend and implement control measures to address identified vulnerabilities. Identified response plans are in place as part of SOPs
5. Support SET-related DIVE (Design Innovation & Venture Exploration) activities and Department's Events
Play a key role in the development of overseas internship programmes
Lead and mentor team members, providing strategic direction, performance feedback and professional development opportunities, in alignment with SET strategies
Nurture team members to further strengthen their capabilities and encouraging the adoption of AI tools to improve work processes.
Foster a collaborative, accountable, and innovation-driven team culture
Oversee workload distribution and ensure timely delivery of all projects and reports.

Who We Are Looking For
Possess a Bachelor's degree in any discipline (Education, Data Analytics preferred)
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity
Proven track record in student affairs, internship management, employability programme, career development in an Institute of Higher Learning
Background in Career Coaching will be an advantage
Strong administration, analytical and data literacy skills with proficiency in Excel (pivot table), Power BI or equivalent platforms
Someone with the ability to interpret policy, manage compliance obligations and work with multiple stakeholders
Have a strong passion for nurturing and developing students, the ability to mentor and build high-performing teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present findings and conduct briefings
