Part-Time Lecturer for DR3007 Studies in Form

The School of Art, Design, and Media (ADM) at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is currently seeking suitably qualified candidates to apply for the role of Part-time Lecturer for the course DR3007 Studies in Form on the Product Design pathway. The successful applicant will be teaching an undergraduate course commencing in August 2024.

This intermediate-level course is designed to introduce students to the intricate nuances of semantics and form in visual expression by employing empirical methodologies to explore the fundamentals and depth of form-giving and its development. Emphasising a practice-based approach, the course aims to cultivate students' imaginative prowess and ability to understand form-giving and then craft it with precision. Students are required to apply learned principles of visual language in the creation of forms, and then harness their proficiency in 3D digital techniques and production tools.

Candidates will hold a Master's and/or PhD in Industrial/Product Design or a related discipline, complemented by a proven history of practice within the design domain. Preference will be given to those with prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Consideration may be extended to individuals with a Bachelor's degree in Industrial/Product Design or a related field, provided they possess substantial and relevant industry expertise.
