A Head of Privacy is required to lead the Global Privacy Compliance Programme within Dyson.

This is a critical role to support the function's clear vision - "a global compliance and ethics function focused on empowering Dyson and its people to do the right thing while enabling robust and sustainable business growth" - we need you to help us achieve this vision.


About the role:


This role requires a bright, tenacious, and proactive individual to lead the provision of advice to the business in respect of privacy compliance risk.

This is a role that provides an excellent opportunity to take a leadership role in the broader compliance programme within a global technology company and make a real contribution as part of a dynamic, global, and passionate team.


  • Support the Head of Legal Compliance and Ethics through the leadership of the functional privacy team to engineer and implement effective strategies to achieve our vision
  • Responsible for setting and implementing all aspects of the data protection compliance strategy and program
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert, providing prompt, professional advice to colleagues where necessary
  • Build strong relationships with all functions across the Dyson globe, both at Group and Market level
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable data protection and privacy legislation
  • Promote and encourage a culture of data privacy across the organization leading on communication, awareness, and training
  • Manage timely, appropriate, and professional responses to regulatory communications
  • Implement and maintain Dyson Privacy policies, standards and guidance including, as appropriate, developing and implementing market specific derogations on policies, procedures and associate documentation

About you:


  • Previous experience leading a global team
  • Previous experience within a legal, compliance, or data protection role having worked with data protection laws, with sound working knowledge of privacy compliance requirements in key territories in which Dyson operates
  • Expert knowledge of the GDPR, ideally demonstrated with an appropriate qualification (e.g., CIPP/E or CIPP/M)
  • Experience coordinating and/or supporting businesschange projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, able to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside of the company, tailoring messaging to the audience
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organisation
  • Capable of working independently, but within a team structure
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
  • Confidence in delivering training
  • Selfstarter, confidence to independently seek resolutions to issues when appropriate
  • Enthusiasm for engaging with emerging laws and technologies
