Role - DC Network Engineer

Location - Singapore

Duration - Full time permanent

Job description

Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks.
Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
Configure and install various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS).
Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations.
Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Provide Level2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team.
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
Designing, writing and updating both system documentation and network diagrams.

Skills for Success:

CCNP or higher (CCIE and/or CISSP highly valued).
At least 5 years of network operations and/or network design background.
Indepth experience in TCP/IP (v4 and v6), BGP and MPLS technologies.
Proficiency in underlying LAN/WAN technologies and protocols. (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
Experience supporting largescale peering/transit networks, with a sound knowledge of complex traffic engineering and Internet routing policies.
Extensive handson experience with carriergrade routers and operating systems.
Working knowledge of DWDM Optical Transport technologies.
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills, including proven abilities to adapt to dynamic project environments, while able to manage multiple.
Strong troubleshooting methodology and experience in an operational environment.
Strong software development skills, including Python programming and Ansible/Shell scripting is highly regarded.
Proven handson network engineering experience.
Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
Handson experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
