Seasoned and experienced

Dr. Monte Lee Rice is a seasoned motivational speaker and trainer, experienced and active in a broad range of audience platforms. His globally expansive career and life experience chiefly in non-profit sectors, grants him learning aims, models, and strategies that make his training deliveries— empowering and transforming learning experiences.

In local universities, poly institutions, junior colleges, secondary and primary schools, he has delivered over 500 training events, workshops, courses, talks and camps. In earlier college level involvement, he has delivered more than 80 undergraduate courses. Over his life, he has delivered countless speeches, and non-formal courses, seminars, and workshops. 

Since 1989, Monte has based himself in or out of Singapore, and has traveled, lived or worked within some 15 nations in Southeast Asia, Africa and Europe. These experiences contribute to his keen understanding of multi and cross-cultural dynamics, communication differences, and worldviews. Through a wide spectrum of leadership roles, Monte has also devoted much of his working life to serving a number of nonprofit, charitable organisations, and schools. Through the course of this experience, he has also generated a number of curricular packages. These portfolios have enabled him to empower and mentor thousands of lives towards their personal aspirations. 

Monte successfully defended his PhD dissertation in April, 2023. He is thus scheduled to graduate in March, 2024. Using methodologies reflecting post-colonial concerns of critical theory, he assessed the fidelity of a community’s discourse and scholarship to its grassroots’ discursive practices. He moreover holds two graduate degrees (one summa cum laude) and his course work involved graduate level courses in education, leadership development, multi-cultural education and curriculum design and development. 

Over the past decade, he has presented annual scholarly papers in top international conferences. He has also published essays in scholarly journals and book volumes. He has been functioning as a blind reviewer for essays submitted to international scholarly journals.

Facilitates personal and community empowerment 

As a trainer, Monte approaches training as an art of transforming learners into high performance achievers for innovative-seeking cultures. He facilitates programmes through a broad range of initiative, problem solving, team-building, and collaborative-learning activities. In these events, he creates an ethos that is fun but challenging, yet targeted towards desired outcomes. By doing so, he facilitates personal and community empowerment towards higher levels of mutually shared flourishing, productivity, and achievement.

He is also presently training and coaching individuals in their oral presentation skills, leading to evidenced growth in their personal deliveries.

Facilitates transformation for the common good 

Envisioning the awakening of each person’s true self, Monte fuses into every learning event, a wealth of pedagogue wisdom and learner centred, self-discovery paradigms. He seeks to orchestrate every training event into a life-changing experience. As a benchmark for all events, he helps participants will encounter a learning and transforming moment, empowering them to higher levels of principled, creative synergy with one’s peers, manifest in a life of service for the common good.
