About Our Client:

The client is a a prominent diamond mining and trading company.

The company's primary operations involve diamond exploration, mining, cutting, and polishing, as well as the distribution and retailing of diamonds.


You will be responsible to ensure the alignment and efficient management of statutory and management financial reporting procedures, systems, and personnel (both internal and outsourced) across all entities within the Sales Business Unit.

The objective is to deliver relevant insights and information to both internal and external stakeholders the company. Additionally, undertake the necessary consolidation of the Business Unit as needed.

The role will consist of mainly Financial Control and Finance Function Leadership responsibilities.

Financial Control

  • Management and Group Reporting:
  • Assesses monthend CFO deck submissions from regional entities.
  • Consolidates the BU and generates analytics for review by the senior finance manager.
  • Ensures thorough review, approval, and submission of yearend financial and tax reporting templates and stat books for Group reporting.
  • Establishes and regularly evaluates financial controls, checks, and balances to ensure compliance.
  • Statutory Reporting
  • Submit statutory reports to external auditors in accordance with statutory financial reporting and control requirements. Ensure that these reports are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Compliance, Governance, Tax and Legal
  • Evaluate tax reporting, income tax computation, deferred tax, and GST, and collaborate with the tax agent for timely submission.
  • Oversee the implementation of finance and accounting activities to guarantee accurate handling of all business transactions, payments, loan agreements, funding needs, etc., in accordance with group policy, fiscal, and legal guidelines.
  • Business Monitoring:
  • Identify variance from budgets and forecasts. Utilize market trends to provide insights into forecasts and budgets.
Finance Function Leadership

  • People Management: Manage 2 people in Finance team and work closely with Finance consultants from 2 outsourced accounting service providers.
  • Functional Budget: Monitor the global budget to align with target expenditures, and identify areas to look into to minimise spending.
  • Business Partner: Provide support to operation teams in cost management and with financial aspects of initiative management. Assist in business case evaluation and ensure that cost related information is assessed within the financial and management accounts.

The Successful Applicant:


  • At least 5 years of finance experience. Prior experience in managing direct reports is a plus.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance and/or substantial financial reporting experience.
  • Audit experience and a qualified CPA.
  • Proficient in using spreadsheets, handling data, and possessing general technology skills.
  • Excellent communication skills required to liaise with stakeholders in the European region.
  • Proficiency in using SAP Business One or SAP Hana is a must.
  • Proficient in Group AFC/Hyperion Financial Management system.
