Description

The Data Analyst analyses data sets to find ways to solve problems relating to a business's customers. It also communicates data and information to management and other stakeholders. It collects and stores data on sales numbers, market research, logistics, linguistics, or other behaviors.

They use tools or software to generate information that may assist in generating analysis or decisions by using trends, patterns and discrepancies.

This role will also be responsible setting up processes and systems to make working with data more efficient by presenting information generated from data to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Identify information needs of stakeholders required for decisionmaking
Assist in the translation of business needs into analytics and reporting requirements
Recommend types of data and data sources needed to obtain the required information and insights
Assist in identifying potential business intelligence service offerings required by the business
Gather data from internal systems and external sources
Perform data entry tasks in data collection systems
Clean and update databases to remove duplicated, outdated or irrelevant information
Perform data validation and quality control checks
Perform basic extract, transform and load related activities to prepare data for analysis or transfer
Analyse data to identify trends, patterns and correlations to support decisionmaking
Propose solutions and recommendations to address information need
Develop automated and logical data models and data output methods
Translate analyses into common business language to influence business decisions or actions
Design data reports and visualisation tools to facilitate data understanding through storytelling

Qualifications

Bachelor's in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or any Data Analytics related courses
Minimum of 23 years' work experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risk
Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations.
Ability to translate business requirements into nontechnical, lay terms.
With experience in methodologies and processes for managing largescale databases.
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
