Hydrogen is expected to play a significant role in decarbonising the world's energy supply to mitigate climate change.

As a 'hydrogen consultant' you will be part of a team of specialists focused on decarbonised gas in the energy transition.

The team is part of a global DNV network of specialists in the hydrogen value chain also delivering broader decarbonisation strategies for industry, transport and homes.

It is an exciting time to join - the demand for our hydrogen services is growing rapidly as countries look to deliver their climate commitments, and you will become part of a team of some of the world's leading experts in this field.


You will support the Hydrogen Technical Director on projects alongside multi-disciplinary teams to provide a coordinated approach to solving customer problems.


These projects may include work scopes such as:

  • Feasibility studies for implementation of hydrogen as part of an end to end decarbonisation option.
  • Technocommercial evaluation.
  • Technical due diligence.
  • Technical Advisory related to gas network conversion, pipeline repurposing, safety, risk and related services.
  • Value chain optimisation from production through to end use and support to roadmap development based on market assessments.
  • Material testing and qualification advisory services.

Successful delivery of these projects will require you to:

  • Be a point of contact for customer communication and lead or support teams in the delivery of DNV projects.
  • Manage and control quality, cost, and schedule of DNV's work packages to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Understand risks and provide mitigation measures associated with H2 related projects at various phases.
  • Demonstrate indepth technical knowledge and an ability and willingness to work outside your comfort zone to develop classleading insights for diverse clients.


You may be required to support other projects led by other technical teams in APAC with your technical expertise and project management capability.


This will require you to:


  • Lead projects as project manager or work as part of project delivery team.
  • Contribute to technical reports in and related to your field of expertise clearly communicating findings while exercising sound engineering judgement.
  • Develop rapidly and interact effectively with related disciplines locally and globally.
  • Manage crossdiscipline project teams to meet contractual requirements.
  • Travel within APAC for customer engagement and project delivery.

Assist with business development activities including:

  • Establish, develop and maintain customer relationships that are long-term with a focus on repeat business.
  • Understand client needs and promote services that would best suit their requirements in markets where they are operating.
  • Participate in industry events and ensure that the company and service offerings are wellrecognised.
  • Develop, write and manage/facilitate terms of reference and/or proposals.
  • Act as an effective liaison between customer and DNV, as well as an ambassador for DNV's business solutions and capabilities.

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Possession of advanced technical degree or relevant project management certifications such as PMP is desirable.
  • Aptitude for consulting ideally with relevant hydrogen experience.
  • Track record of leading projects and with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to work and interact effectively and professionally with contacts at all levels and from a variety of backgrounds customers and coworkers.
  • Flexibility and adaptability tasks and requirements may change quickly.
  • Desire to work in an international team with high performance standards.
