Join our Commodities Strategy team as part of Macquarie's Macro Strategy group based in Singapore to provide fundamental analysis of commodities markets, initially focusing on ferrous metals and bulk commodities.

You'll be part of a supportive and high performing team, and your contribution will be key to our ongoing success.

What role will you play?


You will be providing medium to long term supply-demand modelling as well as short term fundamental and tactical market analysis.

Your role will include developing forecasts and generating written reports that deliver insight and clarity into commodities market activity which will require the ability to both understand detailed commodity market fundamentals and to put them in an overall macroeconomic context.

You will present this analysis both internally (to sales and trading teams) and externally, to our clients and at industry conferences.


What you offer

  • 25 years' experience gained from a range of analytical roles within financial institutions, commodities trade houses, mining companies, central banks, or consultancies
  • A proven track record of analytical problem solving related to either commodity markets or applied macroeconomic analysis
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required due to the coverage of the role
  • Proactive, creative and commercially minded teamplayer with a passion for commodities markets and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Advanced Excel skills is required
  • Experience with programming skills in SQL, Python, data visualization tools, such as Power BI, Tableau, and knowledge of industry data packages, such as Wind, Bloomberg etc is advantageous.
