Abigail Lim

I am Abigail, a current year 2 Business Analytics undergraduate at the National University of Singapore, who is passionate about data analytics and looking for a 6 month full-time credit bearing internship in May - October 2023. As a Business Analytics student, I am well equipped with a mix of Programming, Data Analytics, and Statistics knowledge, and know how to use them together to solve business problems. 

Over the past 2 years, I have experienced working with a range of data analytics methods and processes such as the pipeline of data extraction, data mining, data exploration and preparation using SQL, R and Python, conducting data analysis via various machine learning models, as well as data visualisation using Tableau. This allows me to come up with meaningful insights based on the data, allowing me to come up with effective solutions to problems. I am also efficient in programming in Java, and have a good understanding of Object Oriented Programming, data structures, and efficiency in programming.

In addition, I am familiar with Machine Learning, and know how to create machine learning models to predict outcomes based on data, such as linear and logistic regression models, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machine and calculating Maximum Likelihood Estimation. 

I have experienced working with a range of data analytics processes using SQL, R and Python to analyse trends and patterns in data to gather meaningful insights about problems and decision making. I understand the importance of using data mining to gather, understand and prepare data, to ensure the data we are working with is clean and does not have redundant variables or features. I am familiar with feature selection and extraction, to pinpoint the most important features for the decision problem, before we start analysing the data. I am also proficient with using Tableau and R for data visualisation, like making dashboards to showcase my findings from the data analysis, for stakeholders to better understand the data in a visual way. Furthermore, I am proficient in creating machine learning models like logistic and linear regression, neural networks and support vector machine to analyse and predict data. Other than data analytics, I am interested in automating manual processes which I have done a personal project on before. 

I have worked on various projects such as creating a library system using SQL and Python, as well as coming up with insights about a large 30,000 sample Bank Credit Card default and non default dataset, through machine learning and data analytics. I have also created my own automation bot using RPA to help me automate manual processes of checking a web page.
