About Andi Abdul Kadir Andi Kitta:
Andi has more than 20 years of experience working in the Arabic translation industry (Arabic/English/Malay/Indonesian).
He translated a wide range of documents, including works in the subjects of law, medicine, electronics, politics, economics etc.
Despite his dedication to using standard modern Arabic (fusha), he is also proficient in Egyptian ammiyah, an Arabic-sounding dialect. This may be because he lived in Egypt for 11 years and was exposed to numerous international conferences.
He has past knowledge and experience in carrying out simultaneous translation work at conferences, seminars, or high-level meetings of leaders.
Experience
Working alongside the Trade and Industry Attache at the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo to promote and increase trade volume between the two nations was an excellent learning opportunity. Andi moved to Singapore in May 2001 and held the position of Sn. Arabic translator till January 2023. During this time, Andi also worked as a marriage counselor and volunteered in charitable activities.
Education
Andi obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Islamic & Arabic Studies from the Faculty of Islamic Studies & Arabic, Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He also holds Master’s degree in Dakwah and Islamic Management from the Islamic Science University of Malaysia / Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM).
Andi also holds a Professional Certificate in Effective Helping, conducted by Syariah Court in 2006 to provide professional skills for marriage counsellors in Singapore in addition to few other uplifting skill certificates.
