Working Experience:

Clariant     12/2016 ~ present    Head of Sales & Applications, Industrial Application & Crop Solutions, Asia Pacific

Responsibilities:

  • Regional Strategy Planning (SMP) making and execution, to ensure mid-long term business success. 
  • Regional P/L responsibility: Managing Net Working Capital, Increasing the plants utilization rates, Purchasing competitiveness, Cost control, Resources allocation, Portfolio Management, Distribution channel Optimization, New Business Development etc. 
  • Leading a cross cultural, Sales, Marketing, and Technical Team in Asia Pacific region (in total about 40+ subordinates), selling specialties into various industrial segments including Metal working fluids & Lubricants, Paints & Coating, Crop protection, Construction, Textile, Leather etc.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the Sales and Applications Teams (15 subordinates) in Greater China to hit the sales target by monitoring sales performance, setting pricing strategy and adjusting resources allocation. 
  • Managing the stage gate projects properly to ensure the long-term development of innovation sales. 

Achievements:

  • Doubled the sales revenue from 2011 to 2016 with a 15%+ annualized growth rate.
  • Smoothly filled up the two new production plants in Zhenjiang and Huizhou of China.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the PU team (4 subordinates) to achieve annual sales target and gain profitable sales opportunities in PU leather, PU shoe Sole and TPU segments.
  • Developing Epoxy system business in the fast-growing wind blade industry in China.
  • Promoting products by holding seminars, attending fairs, visiting customers and cooperating with blade designers/fabrics providers/mixing machine suppliers for qualification. 

Achievements:

  • In 2007, achieved about 40% growth in sales volume and 75% growth in turnover. 
  • Built up a China PU synergy sales team for the industries of PU leather, PU shoe sole, TPU and etc.
  • Made a breakthrough in driving the Epoxy System business into Wind Blade segments in China, which laid the foundation for BASF China in getting orders of tens of millions of dollars in the coming years. 

Hexion  05/2004 ~ 01/2005     Hexion Specialty Chemicals Inc.        Account Manager

  • Responsible for the sales of Special Epoxy Resins (e.g. water-borne resins) & Curing Agents to Coating, Adhesive, Civil Engineering and Composites industries in China.
  • Successfully convinced the local Fiber Glass/Coating customers to switch from solvent-borne to water-borne epoxy systems, with cost doubled but better Eco-label.

  • Selling Polyurethane (PU) materials (TDI/Polyol) to the industries of Auto, Furniture, Coating and Painting in East China.
  • Monitoring the market movements closely and proposing to senior management for marketing strategy adjustment.
  • In 2003, achieved 10 million USD sales revenue with a 27% Year-On-Year growth.
