I have been in the maritime industry for over 7 years since I graduated from Singapore Polytechnic with Nautical Studies Diploma. My experiences were mostly with container shipping companies and my most recent working experience with Tongli Shipping which specialize in dry bulk operation. I am now looking for opportunities to widen my exposure to other fields in the same industry.

With a strong shipping operational and sailing background, I believe that it makes me a superior candidate for this role. I cherish every opportunity given to me and take initiative in learning and learn it fast to understand new knowledge which I trust will help me with my career growth in the future. For the past year, I was able to work independently and proactive in finding solutions myself with minimal supervision from Ops Manager. I was able to adapt quickly in bulk carrier operations and started being appointed to as the main operator to operate panamax.

I undergo a 12 months onboard ship training and follow a structured training programme, which includes a correspondence course package and the completion of a training and assessment record book. As cadet officers, students are groomed to shoulder the responsibilities of a Navigating Officer and utilize the fundamental knowledge and skills learned from 1st year school that are required for a deck officer. I have attained As and Bs for my coursebook and clocked a total of 15hours of steering experience.
