I have more than 20 years of working experience in logistics. I started my career as a logistics service provider before I moved on to take up new challenges in distribution, manufacturing, and retail logistics.

I am currently working in Popular Books Co Pte Ltd (Retail, Trading and eCommerce)) holding dual roles – Head of  Warehouse & Logistics and Head of Office Solutions, where I am responsible for the warehouse operations (120,000sqft, >20,000 SKUs) and 3PL management to support the retail business and the P&L for Office Solutions. Apart from supporting the retail business, I am also responsible for the demand and supply analysis, replenishment and orders fulfilment for the new eCommerce business. 

Prior to the invitation by the Chairman of Popular to return to the company to assume the above roles, I was the Operations Manager of the Local Distribution Centre (LDC) in Zuellig Pharma (S) Pte Ltd (Distribution), where I was responsible for three different types of warehouses (200,000 sqft, > 10,000 SKUs), namely, normal ambient conventional warehouse and two temperature-controlled warehouses (aircon and cold chain) and 1 x 3PL ambient warehouse (100,000 sqft). In addition, I was also responsible for the last mile delivery covering all channels in Singapore and managing close to 200 warehouse and delivery staff.  In Zuellig Pharma, I had successfully helped the company to roll out the SAP, stabilising the system, and played a key role in the continuous enhancement efforts. As Zuellig Pharma deals with drugs and healthcare products, ensuring all our processes are compliant with GDP and government agencies’ regulations were my key responsibilities. Other major achievements include improving picking efficiency, picking accuracy (> 8,000 loose and bulk picklines per day), winning the Gold Quality Operations award, and converting the conventional storage warehouse to VNA warehouse in 10 phases without disrupting the day-to-day operations.

I also had a short spell in Asia Pacific Breweries (S) Pte Ltd (Manufacturing) as the Logistics Manager.  Though only 8 months, this role had given me a good exposure in the manufacturing industry especially in Bonded Warehouse where I was also the key contact point in dealing with Singapore Customs for all taxes/duties and customs licensing matters.

Last but not least, I had started my logistics career as a Management Trainee in a local freight forwarding company, Farons Express in the early 90s, where I had developed a program to help the company to ensure all transhipments were promptly connected to the final destination. I then moved on to take on a new challenge as the Business Development Manager in Welgrow Agencies, before I was promoted to Deputy GM after I helped the company to design and introduce a niche service between Singapore and Batam, Indonesia. I ended my freight forwarding and 3PL service provider career in Toll Logistics, where I was the Director of Integrated Logistics after I had successfully helped the company setup a new entity, Toll Integrated Logistics Pte Ltd, and helped to drive this new entity to breakeven within 3 months into business.

Being analytical, meticulous, results-oriented and passionate in continuous process improvement have brought successes throughout my employments.  In addition, I am confident that my comprehensive working experience will put me in a good position to contribute effectively and be instrumental to your organisation’s growth.

I graduated from SIM, Open University of UK with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science.
