Elodie Lieu

I am an HR with Psychology Diploma graduate, pursuing to work with different, talented individuals. I am currently exploring Acting and Theatre and am hoping to expand my knowledge, skills and experience through exposure and learning, some examples being enrolling in Singapore Repertory Theatre's The Young Company, where I perform various stage performances to the public on SRT's stage, and taking vocal lessons at the School of Music and the Arts Singapore, where I perform songs to the public and am training for the Grade 5 LCM Pop Vocal and ABRSM Musical Theatre Exams.

As I grew up, I was exposed to many cultures and nationalities, having a Cambodian-Chinese background while being raised in France and Singapore. I was able to appreciate the differences in culture and see how, despite all these differences, there is still a way we can connect with one another. I want to share and be a part of the storytelling of real-life issues and growing up multicultural.

Throughout my secondary and tertiary education, I involved myself in internships, school and inter-school events, and community service so I have a wide variety of experience in customer service and sales, HR, F&B, events and leadership positions as Head Prefect in secondary school, and Events Department Deputy in Polytechnic.

I took on a customer service intern position at Beauty Garage Singapore, a Japanese beauty product supplier, where I facilitated and assisted with sales, I worked as a waitress at Sofitel City Centre's Racines and at Wild Honey and I took on an HR intern position as part of my course curriculum with Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts, which I extended my services with. 

I also performed in SRT's The Young Company's end of year performance, A Monster Calls, and mid-year performance under the Theatre360 initiative to promote youth performers and artists under SRT. I hosted panel discussion with industry professionals as a Youth Ambassador, such as Dick Lee, Adeeb Fazah (Director of The Second Breakfast Company) and TJ Taylor (Director of SingTheatre) and facilitated discussion on Theatre and the Arts scene in Singapore, specifically for youths and additionally the less abled.

I studied at republic Polytechnic and through my education I had the experience in working with teams of different personalities while making use of all their strengths to successfully find unique solutions. I not only managed to apply my HR and business skills to various case studies, but I also made use of psychology (and counselling), communication and teamwork skills to support my case study solutions with a human touch and consideration. I learned subjects such as Economics, International Communication, Compensation and Benefits, International Business and Relations and Performance Management. Furthermore, I was active in the School of Management and Communication Club Committee as an Events Department Deputy and facilitated and participated in school and community service activities.

At SRT under The Young Company, I learn acting methods and forms such as the Meisner technique, Clowning, and Personal Storytelling. I practice vocal projection and enunciation, and learn to perform to a diverse audience.

At the School of Music and the Arts, I learn vocal techniques, rhythm and basic sight singing. (Vocal Range F3 - A6)
