Eunice Koo

I am a year 4 SMU undergraduate from Singapore Management University, majoring in Psychology with a second major in Marketing. 

Internship at Sofia Wellness Clinic: I produced regular psycho-education content for the clinic’s social media. I also handled the clinic’s customer care, liaising with patients and scheduling them for counselling sessions. I also had the opportunity to join the counsellors’ monthly group supervision sessions. These discussions helped me gain deeper insights into psychological treatments,  how to overcome complex cases and how to communicate with clients 

SMU Peer Helper: I provided mental health support to students in need. I tended to the peer helper room weekly and spoke to students who needed a listening ear. I also mentored new Peer Helper associates to equip them with the necessary peer-helping skills. In addition, I completed the certification course for Gatekeepers’ Intervention Skills Workshop by Samaritans of Singapore, and Mental Wellness Training by Silver Ribbon. 

Psychology Senior Thesis: I have strong research and analytical skills from the research projects that I have undertaken at University. I focused my senior thesis research on ageism toward older adults, and interviewing older adults during the study’s data collection honed my communication skills to speak gently and respectfully. Working as a research assistant for several studies gave me invaluable experience in data collection too. Taking a module on psychometrics and psychological testing also equipped me with useful skills in analysing psychometric data. I am proficient in data collection using Qualtrics and data analysis using R studio, SPSS and Tableau. With my technical skills, I am confident in scoring, interpreting and reporting psychometric tests and psychological assessments.

SMU Muay Thai: I served as the marketing director, vice president and project leader of a community service project under the SMU Muay Thai club for over three years. I have ample experience liaising with external organisations and handling internal processes.
