About Guillermo Armando Corona:
Biological Scientist and Aquaculture specialist with over twenty years of hands-on
aquaculture and international research experience. Responsible, adaptable, innovative and challenge–oriented professional with strong skills in the field, laboratory, and office to manage biological and aquaculture sustainable projects from an integral point of view. As part of a team, I enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary groups to highlight all key elements and make the best decisions to solve problems under critical scenarios.
Experience
AREAS OF EXPERTISE
• Designed, budgeted, coordinated, supervised, advised and led aquaculture R&D,
and innovative blue carbon projects
• Collaborated with international aquaculture research, and startup networks
• Managed histology and molecular biology laboratories
• Implemented bioinformatics, genomics, transcriptomics and microbiomics
molecular tools for aquaculture research and development
• Designed and developed fish sex determination research projects
• Designed, built and operated aquarium life support systems and recirculation
aquaculture systems
• Aquacultured microalgae/zooplankton (rotifers, artemia and copepods) and fish
(tuna, silversides, seahorses, tilapia, arapaima, rainbow trout, among others)
• Designed and built AragoReef structures for artificial coral reefs and managed
soft and hard coral propagation
• Designed and built hydroponics systems
• Presented seminars and conferences as invited speaker for international events
• Prepared reports of results and scientific manuscripts
