2. AVH Animal Ark (Binjai Branch), Veterinary Nurse Intern                         Dec 2022 to June 2023

• Tasked with the objective to learn and pick up essential clinical skills and knowledge to aid in nurse duties a veterinary clinic.
  
   
• Tasked to do reception duties such as settling of payment and answering questions from walk-in patients and over phone calls.
  
   
• Tasked to do reception duties such as packing any medicine dispensed by the Veterinary Doctor and explanation of medication to customers.
  
   
• Tasked to do logistical duties such as stock-taking and ordering items needed by clients and the clinic.
  
   
• Trained to do the setup, operation and maintenances of machines used in the clinic for the patients. This includes microscopes, X-ray machine, anesthetic machines, IDEXX machines (to run various blood tests).
  
   
• Trained to aid Veterinary Doctors in consultations such as the restriction of animals.
  
   
• Tasked to draw drugs for injections and draw bloods from patients.
  
   
• Tasked to stain samples (skin, fur, ear wax) to observe for ectoparasites.

2. Mandai Wildlife Group Conservation Team, Research Assistant Intern   May 2022 to Aug 2022

• Tasked with the objective to create a baseline database for mainly endangered species due to recent heavy construction affecting wildlife in Mandai.
  
   
• Tasked to do field research in order to record down new nesting sites and movement of target endangered bird species Pycnonotus zeylanicus (Straw-headed Bulbul) within Mandai Parks and Jungle.
  
   
• Tasked to do field research in order to record down new nesting sites and movement of avian species within Mandai Parks.

• Tasked to plan out interactive abilities to teach children of age 11 and below about the nature and Jurong Lake Gardens. One example is hosting story-telling sessions for children, and designing activities at
  
   
• Trained to lead guided tours at Jurong Lake Gardens. Guided tours consisted of introducing facilities, flora and fauna of Jurong Lake Gardens. Answering questions from the participants about the wildlife and functions of Jurong Lake Gardens
  
   
• Trained to handle administrative duties on government online platform. Such as website designing and uploading of information to the Jurong Lake Gardens website. 
  
   
• Trained to handle public relations duties for our programs. Such as organizing participants list, contacting participants and resolving issues presented by the participants.

1. Wildlife Reserve Singapore, Animal Trainer and Presenter for Night Safari  Mar 2019 to Present
   
    

• Learned basic husbandry skills to take care of the welfare of wild animals. Able to be tasked alone to take care of hygiene of animals and environment
  
   
• Acquired basic Vet skills to apply basic first aid to animals. Applied skills in real-life situation before, for example, bandaging and applying medication to surface wound of animals 
  
   
• Went through course conducted by Singapore Police Force (SPF). Learned about CPR and basic first aid. Passed the course to receive First Aid license
  
   
• Attained Animal Training skills. Able to train animals to perform intelligent and nimble tricks related to their natural behavior in the wild

• Involved in various fundraising events, sold handcrafted products to members of the public in order to fund the project. Also involved in a car-wash and old item collection event to help promote sustainability and also raise funds

Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES), Volunteer      Dec 2016 to Feb 2017

 

• Went on animal rescue/retrieval missions before. Learned how to deal with on-site emergencies and how to communicate properly to parties involved
  
   
• Conservation lessons to understand Singapore’s biosystem and conservation efforts.
  
   
• Brought PM Lee Hsien Long around to introduce what we do as volunteers. Participated in the tea session where PM Lee shared his aspirations for Singapore’s biodiversity and conservation efforts

Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Volunteer                Jan 2014 to Dec 2014

 

• Learned to be observant about animal behavior, especially dogs. Necessary to prevent danger and also to carry out appropriate approach to dogs which helps in nursing and healing of traumatic experiences
  
   
• Brought pets out for strolls. Experienced being a pet owner and also to watch out for potential danger for both the pet and bystanders when walking pets
