I am passionate in doing rigorous research for renewable energy related topic. This is because I have experience  warmer weather in Singapore and hopefully more carbon reduction can be achieved to mitigate the climate change.

First, I went on to work as an assistant engineer and acquire the skill sets as follows:

• Setting logics with system integration for programmable logic controller (PLC).
• Conduct internal acceptant and factory acceptant tests with customers and end-users
• Setup with trouble-shooting of the control systems for oil and gas industry

During my time as the project engineer, I am in the field of offshore and marine industry for commercial projects such as shipbuilding and oil rigs. I have facilitated in project management activities which acquire the skill sets as follows:

• To plan, monitor and control the project activities as per the detailed project schedule.
• To make sure the work is proceeding in accordance with the approved specifications, codes, standards and approved drawings.
• Manage and provide effective solution to ensure smooth workflow from design, procurement, delivery, fabrication, inspection, installation and punch lists clearance for the respective area.

As an engineer at R&D in the company, I am working full time and involved in the new installation of solar PV 4.5 MWp on the roof top. In addition, I was in the industrial research project to build a scale-down floating wind turbine (FWT) for basin test. Presently, I am taking charge of decarbonisation research projects in the company.

In terms of academia, I was given the opportunity by the training centre in the company to work on a collaboration industrial research project with NUS to design and develop a robotic prototype for testing. This research has allowed me to attain Master of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering). I then moved on to join the research and development department and was awarded a scholarship from the company to pursue degree of Ph.D. with the focus in renewable energy of using wind turbine (WT) or Solar photovoltaic (PV).
