Joshua Dato-on

As a designer in the 21st century, I believe that as technology becomes more prevalent, it provides us with an opportunity to create more innovative products and see the convergence between design and technology. With that, I still believe in the importance of materials and craftwork and the value it still has in the world of design and as a creative. Overall I hope to be able to bring meaningful experiences to the user, to meet the needs and wants of their situation in a fast-paced world.

To name some of my professional experience, I have previously interned at Tribal Worldwide, where I was tasked in designing prototypes for applications, creating 3D renderings of products, and also taking part of a project from the ideation to the development stage. I have also assisted in designing a website, creating the brand's logo design and identity, and producing some photography for their products for a small start-up business. I have also done a few interior design projects, where I was tasked to create 3D renderings for clients as well from landed to HDBs.

I am currently a year 2 student, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design Art (specializing in Product Design) at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prior to University, I graduated with a Diploma with Merit in Product & Industrial Design at Temasek Polytechnic, where I attained some awards such as the Bronze Medal for The Crowbar Awards 2019 in Wearable Technology as well as the Bronze Medal for the STYL Solutions Course where I was third in the Cohort.
