Community Health Service Intern
PMG Pharmacy, Sitiawan — 7 weeks
During this internship, I integrated dietary counselling with pharmaceutical care, providing personalized nutrition advice and medication guidance to clients. I conducted health talks, created educational materials, and gained valuable insights into food-drug interactions—knowledge that is directly applicable in clinical dietetics. This experience also strengthened my skills in patient counselling, interdisciplinary collaboration, and holistic healthcare planning.
Food Service Intern
Perak Community Specialist Hospital — 6 weeks
In this hospital food service placement, I was involved in managing large-scale meal production while ensuring nutritional adequacy and food safety compliance. My responsibilities included planning and evaluating patient menus, supervising meal preparation, and monitoring inventory and quality control. I also collaborated with kitchen staff and clinical teams, which enhanced my communication and organizational skills in a high-demand environment.
Clinical Dietetics Intern – Outpatient Care
Klinik Kesihatan Greentown — 7 weeks
As part of the outpatient dietetics team, I provided individualized dietary counselling for patients with conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and obesity. I worked closely with healthcare providers to develop nutrition care plans and support long-term patient outcomes. Clinical Dietetics Intern – Inpatient & Specialized Units
Hospital Teluk Intan — 13 weeks
This internship involved delivering clinical nutrition care to inpatients in units such as ICU, paediatrics, and oncology. I performed nutritional assessments, formulated and implemented personalized care plans, and provided education to patients and their families. I collaborated with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to integrate nutrition strategies into overall medical treatment. This experience deepened my understanding of clinical nutrition, patient-centered care, and the importance of adapting interventions based on patient progress and needs.
Alpro Pharmacy Taman Seri Sentosa (15th Mac 2025 to 14th June 2025)
During my time working in a pharmacy setting, I provided personalized dietary advice and supplement recommendations to customers with lifestyle-related health conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension. I worked closely with pharmacists to ensure accurate product recommendations and supported clients in managing minor health complaints through appropriate nutrition solutions. Additionally, I performed body composition analyses—including BMI, visceral fat, and muscle mass measurements—and explained the results in a clear and educational manner. I also educated customers using the Malaysian Dietary Guidelines and developed promotional materials to enhance public nutrition awareness, such as daily nutrition tips. My role included managing inventory for health food and nutrition products to ensure stock availability and quality service delivery.
