I recently ended my internship at Singtel as a strategy and investments intern. Most of my work involved market research and fundamental analysis of the digital banking space. I have also interned as an investment analyst at a real estate firm, Australasian Property Group (APG). During my time there, I assisted the investment manager in financial modelling of a mixed-use property worth AUD 88 mil. I was also involved in the entire process of bringing in a mezzanine investor; from doing up pitch decks, to investor meetings, to due diligence, to the negotiation of debt structure, to doing up legal documents.

I studied Business in Nanyang Technological University, majoring in Banking and Finance under the International Trade Programme. In the programme, I was required to take modules, like Investments and International Finance, which were more related to the capital and financial markets. However, I also took modules like Commodity Trading, Trade Incoterms and Ship Chartering, which were more related to understanding commodity-related derivatives, and commodity-related value chains, supply chains and regulations.
