Lauren Ozzati

By way of introduction, I have a creative background and a strong interest in education.  I am exploring teaching as a career change, having moved to Singapore recently from the UK with my husband and two daughters aged 5 and 1.  Later this year I plan to complete a PGCE and eventually become a primary years teacher.

Throughout my career but especially in childcare settings I prioritise building positive relationships. I am supportive and caring, and I like to take time to explain problems and answer questions and make sure each child feels heard. I would love to share my enthusiasm for learning with the students in your school. I have always been passionate about nurturing children and their education, and in the past I have spent time working in a nursery, co-led a group of Cub Scouts and assisted at a summer camp.

The ability to work collaboratively and the strong communication skills I developed in my recent role as an Art Director, where I managed a large team, are valuable assets that can help me thrive as a teaching assistant. These transferable skills would be put to use supporting the teacher’s methods and communicating effectively with parents.  Whilst working across ten weekly publications, I had to be incredibly organised and balance workflow.  I was often complimented on my calm disposition in high pressure situations. I would love to bring some of my creative background into the classroom where appropriate.

I aim to use my skills and love of school to motivate and inspire students to see the fun in learning, and be a support to the teacher. I am a fast learner and I’m constantly seeking new ways to challenge myself and grow my skills. I appreciate you taking the time to review my application.
