I am a passionate and committed Chinese Mandarin teacher with experience working in government and international schools teaching students aged from 6 to 16. I place heavy emphasis on making my lessons interesting and effective, to ensure that my students can improve their proficiency in Chinese, at the same time develop greater interest in learning the language.
My Experience with Chinese Curriculum and Syllabus
I have knowledge and understanding of different Chinese Language curriculum and syllabus in Singapore schools through my experience in both government and international schools as well as being trained in PGDE and Master courses. I can design and develop Chinese as a second language (CL2) tests; analyse and interpret test statistics; do comparative study of different types of CL2 tests such as IGCSE, IB, O-Level, HSK etc.
A Purposeful Pedagogical Practitioner
I specialize in using a variety of teaching strategies such as E-Pedagogy, Making Thinking Visible, Inquiry-Based Learning, Assessment for Learning (AFL) etc. to enhance learning. I am also adept in using ‘Differentiated Instruction’ in my teaching through tailoring my lessons and teaching strategies to meet the different needs, interests and strengths of my students.
