My name is Melvin and I am excited to explore new roles in the IT support industry.

With 6 years of experience in the field, I have developed a strong passion for technology and a deep understanding of the challenges that organizations face when it comes to managing their desktop infrastructure.

Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in diverse environments, from small startups to large corporations, which has given me a well-rounded perspective on desktop engineering. I have been responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining desktop systems, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and optimized for performance.

I possess a strong technical skill set, including expertise in operating systems such as Windows and macOS, and software deployment tools. I am proficient in managing Active Directory and Group Policy, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and providing end-user support. Additionally, I have a solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols, which allows me to effectively collaborate with network teams to address any connectivity or performance-related concerns.

What sets me apart is my dedication to continuous learning and keeping up with the latest industry trends. I actively engage in professional development by attending relevant conferences, participating in online forums, and obtaining certifications to enhance my knowledge and skills. I believe that staying updated is crucial in this rapidly evolving field to ensure that I can provide the best possible solutions and support to the end-users.

Moreover, I am a strong believer in teamwork and collaboration. I have had the opportunity to work closely with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, security professionals, and help desk technicians, to ensure seamless integration of desktop systems within the overall IT infrastructure. I value clear communication, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

I do face some setbacks during my time with other employments as most of the roles I was working on was either project roles from my first Job which from 2016 in NCS to 2019 in BSH Home Appliances where I felt the need to move on from my comfort zone to widen my exposure and to reach fullest potential as an IT Support Engineer. As of year 2020, which I thought that my career path will change as I was offered a full-time role with iFAST Financial where I could finally start my IT career properly. However, it was then cut-short when the pandemic hits Singapore and I was not able to pick up the relevant knowledge transfer from my seniors and had to self-explore the SOPs from working with colleagues from other departments when it comes to troubleshooting their in-house applications. It was after 2years 11months later I felt that it was time for me to move on once the pandemic has subsided. However, it was then I moved on to a remote role in a bank sector which was then acquired by iFAST (coincidental), then I realise I could not stay on as they have decided to make some drastic changes that resulted in my scope being unrelated to IT support. Hence, I had no choice but to leave the financial industry to work on another role now in a Life Science company just to tie over the period financially.
