Monika Balaya

I have experience with psychological research through working for a year as an Associate Psychologist in Research at Ministry of Social and Family Development. I assisted with data management, analysis, and presentation of projects relating to criminal and forensic psychology services. Additionally, I have undertaken multiple internships where I have worked on psychological research tasks relating to clinical and developmental psychology.

I have a year's worth of professional experience at the Ministry of Social and Family Development. Here, I conducted data analysis using Excel and RStudio for client profiling, and compared client outcomes to evaluate Pre-Family Guidance Order (FGO) Services under the supervision of Dr. Lue Fang. This included tasks such as carrying out network analysis to evaluate needs and strengths profiles of children in out-of-home care settings, and conducting network analysis for profiling of youths in Singapore Boys’ Hostel, contributing to review of services. Additionally, I assisted with data cleaning and preparation of descriptive statistics to summarize profiles of adolescents with sexually abusive behaviours and adolescents with violent behaviours, contributing to client profiling study. I also carried out coding of data as well as data analysis to facilitate validation of psychometric tool used for violence risk triage in intimate partner violence. Finally, I managed data collection and preparing technical descriptive reports of data for the Pre-FGO services, and scored psychological assessments administered to clients.

I graduated in May 2022 from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology. My CAP was 4.49/5.0
