Noel is an investment professional whose career has focused on the Asia Pacific real estate and hospitality sectors, across both private and public equity. He has an excellent investment track record and is competent at integrating sustainability/ ESG with investment processes.

His most recent role is with White Label Hospitality, via which he and a consortium of investors invested in K Hotel Group in September 2019 and exit in September 2022 with a ~2.1x equity return multiple or ~28% internal rate of return. Noel was instrumental to achieving the excellent investment outcome, having taken on a full-time role as CFO and Board Member – leading strategy, fund raising, business development (growing the business from 0 to 13 hotels and hostels) and corporate finance. 

Noel was previously at APREA working with institutional investors, private equity real estate (PERE) funds and securities funds on Asia Pacific macro research; manager research and benchmarking; and, investor reporting. He worked with Preqin on PERE indexation and benchmarking; and, launched the GPR/APREA index for securities funds with Thomson Reuters. An investment vehicle he setup during this period to invest in real estate securities has delivered returns-to-date in excess of 10% p.a., representing significant alpha to the benchmark GPR/APREA composite index.

An earlier stint at Pacific Star Fund Management gave him exposure across macro strategy and direct deals covering Southeast Asia greenfield and brownfield investments. He was a member of the team that listed Pacific Star Development on the Singapore Stock Exchange (SGX).

Noel also has deep expertise in integrating sustainability/ ESG with investment processes, having worked with GRESB to launch sustainability best practices; with the Monetary Authority of Singapore and SGX to launch Stewardship Principles for Responsible Investors; and, with Temasek subsidiary – Stewardship Asia Centre, to explore how to integrate sustainability/ ESG with Temasek’s investing processes and at investee firms.

Noel placed in the Dean’s List for the Master’s in Applied Finance program at Singapore Management University and is an active CFA charter holder.
