Working in MOE sites (offices), my primary site was Academy of Singapore Teachers and MOE Evans road. I am a considered as a off-site engineer as the main IT Center was in MOE HQ @Buona Vista.

• Even though as a sub con to NCS , we did same job as the perm NCS engineers 
• Sit in AST and monitor ITSM for support requirement
• Preparing new laptop, imaging, setting up for new users as users rotate each year as the staff in MOE offices are teachers and yearly they will return to school and new batch will come in to MOE offices
• Setting up IT peripherals, such as printers, scanners 
• Level 1 troubleshooting, and if needed escalating to relevant departments
• Responsible for updating and patching the IT training rooms in AST.
• Travel to various MOE sites if needed

Reason for leaving: After a few years, I find there isn’t much things to learn anymore and I wanted to have a more specialized role such as in networking. Also my role was considered like a “1 man show”, taking care of hundreds of users in both MOE sites & at times it was quite overwhelming for 1 person. 

Sysnet System & Solutions Pte Ltd 

Position: Junior IT Engineer (Lvl 1) ( 26/12/2017 – May 2019)

The company is an IT Service provider. Some of the projects  I was involved and duties was as follows:

Pirelli (Attend on site bi-weekly)

• Onboarding staff setup
• Setup laptop, image, according to new staff department etc. Email, software, access to shared folder. Setup of printer. Setup of mobile.
• Adhoc IT support
• Eg: Laptop migration
• Troubleshooting, installation of software etc.

VXL Thin clients

• We are partners with VXL Technologies and also repair center for Asia pacific.
• Faulty thin clients are sent to us to troubleshoot & repair
• Mostly changing of hardware parts such as motherboard, RAM, flash etc.
• Coordination, shipping
• Administrative, to record parts changed, serial no etc.

NIE (National Institute of Education)

Service desk engineer. I was a backfill engineer here but was attached here permanently for around 3 months as the permanent staff left.

• Attend to emails/ phone calls regarding IT Issues
• Use IT Service management software to create/ track tickets etc.
• Make sure incident are properly escalated and closed according to SLA.
• Escalate to Lvl 2 engineers if needed
• Access to Active Directory to reset password / unlock account

Exxon Mobil ( 2 weeks project)

• Symantec Endpoint Protection project.
• Download & created installation package
• Installation of SEP on clients machine over 100 + machines.
• Make sure that SEP on machines are connected to server & have latest virus definitions

• Kaspersky antivirus project
• Mosque bought Kaspersky Security Center sometimes ago but do not know how to use it.
• Update KSC to latest version
• Created clients package and install to staff machines.

Analog Devices INC

• Backfill engineer to help cover permanent Resident engineer if on MC/ Leave
• Company is heavy on printing labels for shipment so most troubleshooting is for printer. Eg: Unable to print, need to re setup printer, re setup IP address.

Others

The company have other clients who engage us on on-call basis, some issues I attended are such as bluescreen, Microsoft office software not working, computer unable to bootup etc.
