About Phill van Doorn:
Currently I am wanting to re-enter the workforce after almost 6 years as a stay-at-home Dad. Not knowing what career I wanted to spend a few years at University for, I finished High School and continued working. My early working life included a few years working for a temp agency as relief staff. Each week I would learn new skills on the job in a variety of roles (and yes, some of these were mundane skills, but I was often sent back to particular companies as the agency liked my work ethic, or that I was happy doing the jobs permanent staff didn’t want to).
I enjoy and work better in hands on physical roles with the chance to perform varied tasks. I have a 30 year background working solo and in teams in various roles and industries, allowing me to be flexible and adept at learning new positions quickly. I have prior experience in order picking and can comfortably and quickly transition into other roles if needed.
In my work at Biotech Pharma, I found improved methods for cleaning manufacturing equipment and wrote two SOP’s for these. At Banner Brothers I helped problem solve ways to finish advertising banners for clients that had unique installation systems and designed reference charts for adjusting the hot wedge welders. Working at IGA, I attained an above average pick rate within my first month and maintained it every week (new staff were given 3 months to achieve minimum pick rate). In my longer term positions, I would train new staff, hopefully showing my manager’s trust in my abilities.
If you have made it this far, I thank you for your time and hope you find my history intriguing enough to warrant a conversation.
